Grade Viewer is a small educational helper for looking at the grades your school already stores in StudentVUE. It is not a district system, and it is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or associated with Edupoint, StudentVUE, Synergy, or any school district. It is not used for profit, and it is not a place where we collect or keep student grade records.
This app talks to StudentVUE from your browser
When you sign in, your browser talks to StudentVUE over HTTPS. Grade Viewer’s website does not receive your password, gradebook, documents, mail, or attendance. Those stay between this device and your school’s StudentVUE system.
Browsers block some of those StudentVUE connections, so a small relay forwards the encrypted connection to Edupoint hosts. The relay can see that a connection to StudentVUE happened. It does not decrypt your login or grades. What-if / hypothetical scores stay on this device and are never sent to StudentVUE or to us.
What we store
- Normal website hosting logs (someone visited the site). We do not use those logs to identify students.
What we don’t keep
- We do not create StudentVUE accounts or keep a database of grades.
- We do not get your password, email, gradebook, documents, mail, or attendance on our servers.
- We do not sell, share, or look through your gradebook, documents, mail, or attendance.
- We do not send what-if scores back to StudentVUE or to anyone else.
What stays on your device
After you sign in, this browser can save an encrypted copy of your StudentVUE login so you don’t have to type your password again. The encryption key stays on this device and cannot be copied off it. Remember Me keeps that login across visits; without it, it lasts for this browser session. Signing out deletes the saved login.
This browser may also keep a local gradebook snapshot so pages load faster, plus mail, documents, and attendance for this tab. Signing out clears those copies. What-if edits live only in this tab until you leave the course page. A theme choice and a profile-picture preference can stay in this browser even after you sign out.
What goes back to StudentVUE
What-if scores are local only. Mail actions you take here—marking a message read, deleting it, or moving it—are sent to StudentVUE, the same as in the official app. Grade Viewer does not change the grades your school has on file.
Who actually has your grades
Your school and StudentVUE (Edupoint) already have your grades. Their privacy rules still apply. Grade Viewer only shows what StudentVUE returns when you sign in from this browser.
Terms of use
By signing in, you agree to these terms. Grade Viewer is an independent educational project. It is not affiliated with Edupoint Educational Systems, StudentVUE, Synergy, or any school district. Those names and marks belong to their owners.
This site is for educational purposes only. It is not used for profit: no ads, paid plans, or sale of student data. Use it only with your own StudentVUE account, and follow your district’s rules.
The app is provided “as is,” without warranties. Grades here may be incomplete or out of date compared with StudentVUE. Grade Viewer and its operators are not liable for missed work, wrong displayed grades, account problems, school action, or any other loss from using this tool. You use it at your own risk.
Open source
Grade Viewer is open source. You can read the code at github.com/SushantIndupuru/grade-viewer.
Hosting
Someone has to host the website so you can open it. That host serves the app pages and may keep normal request logs. It does not get your StudentVUE password, email, or grades. A small relay helps the browser reach StudentVUE; it sees that an encrypted connection happened, not the contents of your login or grades.
Questions
If you did not mean to use this tool, sign out. That clears the saved login and the local grade, mail, document, and attendance copies on this device. You can also close the tab. We do not keep your password, email, or gradebook.
